The second edition of the Sino-French High-Level Forum on Science Fiction and Imagination heralds the start of the second season of the Sino-French International Exchange Series for Art Masters

On the afternoon of November 26, 2019, the Sino-French High-end Forum on Science Fiction and Imagination, themed "The Creation and Development of Sino-French Science Fiction Art," was successfully held at the Guoxue Hall of Shenzhen University.

This forum is an important part of the second season of the Sino-French Art Masters International Exchange Series, co-hosted by the SCIENCE & FANTASY GROWTH FOUNDATION, Shekou Subdistrict Office, and Shekou Overseas Personnel Management Service Center under the guidance of the Nanshan District Foreign Affairs Bureau. This event has received strong support from the Spanish Department of the School of Foreign Languages at Shenzhen University and the Nantes Utopiales Science Fiction Festival in France.

The event invited contemporary Chinese and French writers and artists to Shenzhen. Among them, French playwright Guillaume LAVENANT and French painter Éric SAGOT, who came to China as part of the "Verne Project" initiated by the Science and Fantasy Foundation, also attended the event and interacted with science fiction art enthusiasts in Shenzhen, thereby promoting communication and exchange between talents and cultures of China and France.

Last November, the SCIENCE & FANTASY GROWTH FOUNDATION, in collaboration with the Shekou Subdistrict Office, successfully organized a series of international exchange activities featuring Chinese and French art masters. By leveraging artworks as a bridge, the event facilitated the signing of a "Memorandum of Understanding on Friendly Exchange and Cooperation" between Nanshan District and Nantes City, while also enhancing the vitality and attractiveness of Shekou's internationalized neighborhood.

The Sino-French High-Level Forum on Science Fiction and Imagination has ignited the enthusiasm of Shenzhen's literature enthusiasts for science fiction literature, enabling the people of China and France to perceive and approach each other more closely, and to cherish even more the friendship formed over the past 55 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as the current comprehensive strategic partnership.

The second season of the Sino-French Art Masters International Exchange Series will undoubtedly further showcase the open and inclusive atmosphere of Shekou's international neighborhood, which is both suitable for living and working. This will enable Shekou Street to fully leverage its international resource advantages, continue to strengthen the construction of its international neighborhood, and thereby assist Shenzhen in becoming the sixth National Civilized City and moving forward towards the goal of building a pioneering demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
