Sci-Fi Imagination Public Classroom Enters Ganzhou: Interstellar Imagination on the Red Soil

On October 29th, the "Science Fiction Imagination Public Classroom," a science popularization and science fiction support program hosted by the Shenzhen Social Welfare Foundation's SCIENCE & FANTASY GROWTH FOUNDATION (hereinafter referred to as "Science Fiction Fund"), was successfully held at Dayu Middle School, a key middle school and century-old prestigious school in Jiangxi Province. Science Fiction Public Welfare Ambassador and young writer Lu Banhe, as well as technology expert Ma Yuepeng, were invited as keynote speakers, bringing a wonderful journey of science fiction and technology to over 500 students. Li Xiaoran, principal of Dayu Middle School, Yang Junping, vice principal, Ma Guobin, chairman of the Science Fiction Fund, and Xiao Zhengyu, legal advisor of the Science Fiction Fund, jointly attended the event.
At the beginning of the event, Li Xiaoran, the principal of Dayu Middle School, delivered an ebullient speech. He talked about the impact of science fiction on personal growth experiences and its role in promoting technology and society. He hoped that the students could keep their feet on the ground while looking up at the stars, and broaden their horizons and thinking on the path of growth.
In his speech, Ma Guobin, the chairman of the Science Fiction Fund, stated that the Science Fiction Fund has always been committed to promoting the popularization and development of science fiction culture. The "Science Fiction Imagination Public Welfare Classroom Program" did not emerge out of thin air, but was launched based on years of experience and resource accumulation. He hoped that this time, the charm of science fiction could be amplified in the form of public welfare, inspiring the imagination and creativity of the students.
Afterwards, Mr. Ma Guobin, the Science Fiction Foundation, presented a batch of science fiction books to the school library. Principal Li expressed that science fiction has indeed sparked students' imagination and creativity, and he will encourage more students to participate in science fiction activities in the future.
In today's event, Lu Ban, with the topic of "Seeing and Wanting to See", talked about the impact of scientific discoveries by Nobel laureates, artificial intelligence, genes, and interstellar migration on humanity, providing students with unlimited imagination. He encouraged students to look back at the current world development from the perspective of the future.
Ma Yuepeng, the Director-General of the Science Fiction Foundation and an expert of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Expert Committee, shared with the students the history of AI development, its working principles and modes, as well as the latest trends in AI development both domestically and internationally, under the title of "Interdisciplinary Integration and Development in the Age of Artificial Intelligence". This allowed the students to deeply perceive how to cope with the era of AI from a human perspective.
The atmosphere at the course was lively, with students actively interacting and eagerly asking questions. Both Lu Ban and Ma Yuepeng patiently answered the students' questions one by one, and encouraged them to continue studying science fiction, broaden their horizons, and be brave in innovation.
After the event, the Science Fiction Fund team visited various venues such as the cultural corridor, track and field stadium, Innovation and Technology Museum, and south gate to learn about the school's humanistic history, educational philosophy, educational characteristics, development and construction, among other aspects. They spoke highly of the school's cultural heritage and educational achievements.
